It’s hard to believe that we’re back from Mauritius already. I know it’s a total cliché, but it really doesn’t feel like it was all that long ago that we were planning for, and looking forward to going. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and actually, whilst we’re all sad that our holiday is over, 10 days was the perfect amount of time for our first getaway as a family of four. Long enough that it didn’t feel like the holiday flew by, but short enough for us to cope with two little ones in a different time zone.
We had such a lovely time, probably better than I was expecting too as the children did so well at adjusting to our laid back holiday schedule. We didn’t make any plans prior to going instead opting to go with the flow when we got there which worked out really well as we were able to get a good balance of days out and days by the pool and beach which was perfect. I wasnt sure what to expect taking two really young children on holiday, it felt like it could have gone either way and would either be really difficult or surprisingly easy. In the end it was probably somewhere in the middle which again was better than I was expecting. After contemplating for the longest time last year whether or not we should go, I am so pleased that we did because we had the most wonderful time, especially at my sister in laws wedding and now have the most amazing memories to look back on, even if its only me and the Mr than can remember them in years to come. If I could sum up our holiday in a few words it would be; family, swimming, ice cream, boats and private islands.
Like any mummy and typical blogger I have captured as much of it as I can in daily holiday vlogs which I loved making. If you fancy having a peek at what we got up to you can watch them all on our You Tube Holiday Vlogs playlist. Yet as much as a I love watching video snippets of our days, there is something to be said about photos and their ability to capture moments that is quite magical so I wanted to share some of our holiday in pictures too here on the blog, a chronicle of the last ten days in Mauritius. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do!
Have you been on holiday this year, how would you sum it up in a few words or pictures? I’d love to hear!
