Planning The Perfect Family Weekend Break

My Petit Canard Travel Inspiration Image

One of the things that I wrote about on our autumn bucket list earlier this week was booking a UK weekend break, something that I have been bending the husbands ear about since Spring this year. It’s never really got past the idea stage, but its been something that I have been desperate to do. As much as we love travelling abroad, now that we have two little ones I really want us to make the most of the UK countryside and autumn feels like the perfect time to do it.

For the last few months I’ve dreamt of staying in a picturesque cottage in the countryside, somewhere small and quaint in the middle of nowhere. Ok, perhaps not completely in the middle of nowhere as we will need some amenities with little ones, but hopefully you can see the type of picture im trying to paint. But a big reason why my little dream has never become anything more than that is because I just havent known where to start. I find the sheer number of possibilities too overwhelming and every time I start looking I end up more confused and with a longer list of places to look at than when I started.

Which is why we actually need somewhere like award winning, family focused Tots To Travel who craft baby and toddler friendly holidays both in the UK and abroad to help us navigate the best places for us to visit and stay in the UK. Just the fact that they have hand selected and then child proofed every property in their portfolio takes away the stress and hassle of finding somewhere child friendly and family suitable, leaving us to focus on the bigger, more important challenge of where to visit.

Using the Tots To Travel website we have very quickly and easily narrowed down our options from the whole of the UK to four potential places, inspired by the beautiful properties that they have. Four very different, but equally beautiful parts of the country, each with something unique to offer our little family.

1. Cornwall

2. Cotswolds

3. Dorset

4. Gloucestershire

Now that we are feeling much more inspired, all we need to do now is make a decision on which of the four we want to visit this autumn! Have you visited any of these places, which of the four would you choose?

Disclosure; this is a collaborative post, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

That’s a great idea for a sight! I love both Dorset and Cornwall – Dorset is closer so I’d choose there for the shorter car journey haha. I had so many happy family holidays as a child in Dorset, and we went this time last year when I was 7 months pregnant. I will definitely take my son one day! I love holidaying in the UK, we just went to center parcs which was amazing. #BloggerClubUK

I’d probably pick the Cotswolds out of these, although I do love Cornwall. Overall the Lake District and Peak District are my favourite UK destinations xx #bestandworst

For me it is always going to be Cornwall that wins out of those choices. Stunning scenery, beautiful beaches and lots of peace and quiet 🙂

I love Dorset, it’s so beautiful. I think that an Autumn break sounds perfect, especially if it’s though a company that has secret information on the best places to stay with little ones. Thanks so much for linking up to the #Dreamteam xx
