The Ultimate Childrens Christmas Gift Guide

12 childrens christmas gift ideas

I didn’t realise until I’d almost finished putting together this gift guide, how much I am still drawn to wooden toys. I thought my love for them had started to wane as the little lady has grown up over the last three years, but looking at this list it most definitely hasnt. There are a few non wooden toys here and there, but for the most part it’s a bit of a gift guide for wooden toys. So if you’re reading this I really hope you like wooden toys as much as we do!

The Best Big Present Toys

6 Large toys for children this christmas

1.GLTC Sweet Pea Kitchen £165

A play kitchen is a fantastic gift for toddlers and little ones. I don’t know any child that doesn’t like a little bit of role play, so a play kitchen whether its wooden or plastic will keep them entertained for years to come. They make great showstopper Christmas presents and are a great gift to get particularly if you have more than one child as it can be gifted as a joint present. We love and have the Sweet Pea Kitchen from GLTC, but they have lots of other gorgeous designs to pick from that are worth checking out.

2. GLTC Fix It Workbench £60

This wooden work bench makes the perfect Christmas gift for any little boys and girls that love role play. This is another toy from GLTC that will give them hours of fun and could be shared between siblings as a large gift. Not only can they practice a spot of DIY, but little ones can also construct things on it using all the little tools and accessories that come with it.

3. GLTC Cherry Blossom Doll’s House £115

What little girl, or boy perhaps doesn’t want a doll’s house for Christmas? When we went to the GLTC Bromley store opening last month our little lady was obsessed with this one. We contemplated dolls houses last year, but she just didn’t seem quite old enough to really appreciate and play with it. This year however she was really mesmerised by it and spent the majority of the time that we were in the store playing with it. GLTC make two very pretty dolls houses, this one and another slightly newer one in white which is lovely. The quality is second to none so if your little one has eyes on a doll’s house too, then I’d definitely consider this one.

4. Janod Mint Scooter £80

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prettier wooden scooter than this Janod one. It is seriously on my lust list for the little ones, and if it weren’t for winning a set if Microscooters I’d seriously be contemplating purchasing this.

5. Ikea MALA Wooden Easel £16

An easel is a perfect Christmas gift for any budding little artists. There are so many around, but as you can see it doesn’t have to break the bank. We have this Ikea MALA one in pink which looks great and is an absolute bargain.

6. Mini Micro Scooter £59.95 – £90.85

A scooter is a perfect Christmas gift for little ones, and a Micro Scooter is the royalty of scooters as most parents will know. They are well worth the price tag for the quality, functionality and durability that you get. Having had a much cheaper scooter for the past year, I wish we’d just got a Micro Scooter to start with.

The Best Christmas Sack Toys

1.Le Toy Van Wooden Doctors Set £40

The perfect little set for a fun game of doctors and nurses. There are so many little doctors sets out there, but this is the only wooden one that I’ve seen so far. The little lady had a Dc McStuffins one last Christmas which she has enjoyed, but has always had eyes on this one. I think because of the wider range of pieces that you get and how realistic it looks. I have to admit, this is definitely my favourite of all the doctors sets I’ve seen.

2. Janod Wooden Circus £21.50

A lovely little wooden toy set to get little imaginations going. One of many pretty play sets that Janod make including a fire station, this circus scene is sure to keep little hands busy. I love that this can be packed up and carried around with little ones so that they can play away, as well as at home, yet its pretty enough to display on shelves and in rooms.

3. Janod Bricolo Tool Box £36.00

I have been obsessing over this beautiful little wooden toolkit ever since I stumbled on it on Amazon, and wondering when I will have an excuse to buy one for one of our little ones. There are a fair few wooden and plastic tool kits out there, but I just love the authenticity of this one. For any little boy or girl who is seriously into their role play, this is a great gift.

4. Disney Store Frozen Dress Up Costume £30.95

Dress up costumes make perfect gifts for little ones sacks. Last year our little one spent Christmas dressed up as Cinderella. This year its likely to be Elsa from Frozen. But beyond the Disney costumes which are great, little ones can also dress up in their favourite profession thanks to brands like Melissa and Doug who make more traditional costumes. We love the Disney store for dress up, but many of the supermarkets like Sainsburys and Asda, and clothes stores like M&S and Matalan do great dress up costumes too, and often at a fraction of the price!

5. VTech KidiZoom Camera £49.90

These children’s digital cameras from VTech are great for any little budding photographers. VTech even do a selfie stick version too that they’ve just brought out in time for Christmas, but this more traditional design is perfect for getting little one started. It operates and functions as a normal digital camera and even has some fun games built in to keep little ones entertained.

6. Leapfrog Leapreader £39.99

Leapfrog Leapreaders are great for encouraging little ones reading and writing in a fun and engaging way. There is a Leapreader for every age and stage and they make great Christmas gifts for little ones. They have such a great range of story and activity books that it would be hard not to find something that your little one would like.

So those are our top 12 recommendations for little ones Christmas presents this year. I hope you enjoyed reading our gift guide. Let us know if any of these make it onto your little ones lists! Fancy pinning this to Pinterest? Theres a pinnable picture for you below!
