Favourite Baby Boy Summer Rompers

Favourite Baby Boy Rompers

After  having our daughter in the middle of a hot, sticky summer almost three years ago, I vowed never to have another summer baby. But three years down the line I find myself in exactly the same predicament with another summer baby on the way! My only hope is that with baby number two being due a month earlier than the little lady is that it’s a little cooler this time round. However the good thing about having already had one summer baby, is that I know exactly what I’m facing when it comes to the practicalities of clothing them for the first few months. I was totally unprepared last time stocking up on lots of baby grows and the little lady ended up living in vests for pretty much the first two or so months because it was far too warm for anything else. So this time round I’m making sure we stock up on lots of vests and rompers for this little one and thought I’d share some of my favourites that I’ve found so far.

1. Next Boat Rompers

Next are one of my favourites and go to stores for baby clothes. Their fit (slightly generous) and quality of their baby clothes is fantastic and they always have such a great range for little ones. I can’t get enough of the nautical theme for baby boys at the moment and these rompers are simple, but really sweet and perfect for the summer.

2. Next White & Blue Linen Blend Dungarees

I love dungarees on little boys and these Next ones are pretty adorable. I’d love to get these for our holiday to Mauritius this summer when he will be a couple of months old and I’ll be starting to make the switch from simple vests, rompers to little outfits.

3. John Lewis Baby Boat Romper

I equally love the John Lewis Baby range, particularly for the great quality fabrics they use. I love the stripes on this little boat romper and can see this also being perfect for the warmer summer months.

4. John Lewis Baby Mummy Sunshine Sleepsuit

I’m generally not a fan of baby outfits which have Mummy and Daddy written on them, but I quite like this John Lewis Baby one as it’s really modern and a bit different from the typical slogan type designs that you find. The colours are great and I love the simplicity of the designs and prints. We didn’t get any footless sleepsuits when we had the little lady, but I could imagine these might be great for cooler summer evenings.

5. John Lewis Baby Daddy Apple Sleepsuit

Its only natural if you have a Mummy sleepsuit to get a Daddy one too! Plus, the design is again really modern, simple and sweet.

6. Gap Stripe Tank Shortie

Like the nautical theme, I can’t get enough of mariniere stripes! I love this sleeveless Baby Gap romper which is simple but sweet and again will be perfect in the hot summer months. Baby Gap is one of my other favourite go to places for little ones, although I’ve always found the sizes less generous on the little lady so tend to shop there less compared to Next and John Lewis. That said, they do have some of the cutest outfits around!

7. Ted Baker Plane Print Romper Suit

Ted Baker always have some lovely bits for little ones, but tends to be somewhere I go to for more one off and special occasion pieces rather than every day items. Like the other brands, the quality of their clothes is great and their sizing is pretty spot on. I love this plane print romper which similar to the John Lewis Baby ones will probably be perfect for cooler summer nights.

8. Gap Logo Colourblock Shortie

I love these trendy little Baby Gap logo rompers which are quite Ralph Lauren-esque. I love the boldness of them and the colour block style. They do come in a jersey type material so are probably a bit thicker than the other rompers, but I think these could be good for days out and slightly cooler summer days.

One of the things that you may have noticed like me is that there is a lot of blue and white in this colour palate. I would like to have more colour in the little ones wardrobe, especially during the summer months when its perfect to have lots of splashes of colour so I’ll be keeping my eye out for brighter bits to add to this list. If you’ve come across any brighter and sunnier prints or designs let me know as I’d love some recommendations!

I also loved Next for baby things and those dungarees are definitely my favourites. I love a stripe too and the Gap outfit is super cute with the red detailing. Who said boys clothes were boring???!!! TY for linking up to #FamilyFun

These are adorable! Makes me want another little baby boy to dress up in those cute little rompers. Both my kids were born in the summer (July, August) so I can understand how you feel. Good luck! #BloggerClubUk

I love the Next dungarees, uber cute. My little one is 10 months now. We’ve loads of hand me downs so I’ve not really had to nuy any clothes so I’ve avoided the generic blue and white stripe pallet that seems to be in for little boys. Boots Mini Club had a different pallet of baby grows in stock when I was last there last month. Greens and dinosaurs and things, you should go check it out if you want a different colour or two! Thanks for sharing with #familyfun & good luck with the bump arrival!

Ahh lovely lovely! I was with you with the hot sticky summer three years ago…being nine months pregnant in that heat is not something I fancy doing again, I’m hoping for a moderately sunny but not unbearable summer! #familyfun

Awww this post made me so broody! Last year my son wore so many gorgeous rompers like this but now, almost two, they don’t tend to do them for that age and he is stuck with shorts and t shirts which are way too grown up for my liking! Gorgeous! #KCACOLS

Oh look at those, some really cute little outfits! I don’t think I really thought of what my little girl would wear during her first few months, she was due in August but ended up coming in September so thankfully all the baby grows came in handy for the cooler nights! It’s really nice to see some cute baby boy outfits too #marvmondays

Baby Lighty was a summer baby so I totally know where you’re coming from!! I loved him in dungarees and rompers, I’m not sure they’ll work as well on Toddler Lighty, as he’ll practically be this summer?! Thanks for hosting #MarvMondays 🙂

Ah, love all these! Baby boy rompers are the best. I feel so out of my comfort zone this time having a Summer baby after a Winter baby. I’ll need some tips on how to dress them. Kaye xo

You just cant beat a cute dungaree set can you?! So sweet 🙂

  18. May 9, 2016 / 8:53 pm

Oh these are so cute! I had two autumn babies so I didn’t get to buy any of these in little sizes – it was more snow suits and many, many hats! Almost makes me want to have another one… almost 😉 x #TheList

    • May 18, 2016 / 4:06 pm

Aww I never got to put my baby in snowsuits because of the same reason. Itll probably be the same this time round! Its funny how you experience slightly different things depending on when your babies are born 🙂

  19. May 11, 2016 / 8:58 am

I’ve just been romper shopping too! They are just so cute. I missed those Next dungarees – think I’ll have to pick up some of those next time I go shopping. I also found some really cute ones in Matalan (my shop of choice for boys as it actually has a fairly good range). #MarvMondays

    • May 18, 2016 / 3:59 pm

Ooooh, would love to see what you found! Matalan has some lovely little steals in there. I must remember to pop n the next time I get a chance 🙂

Oh that is one of my favourites out of them all! I just cant seem to get enough of little dungarees at the moment, too cute 🙂

    • May 18, 2016 / 7:54 am

Thanks 🙂 Its quite tricky to figure out what to put them in, especially when its hot and sticky. Our little lady ended up in vests or just nappies for most of the time so im expecting more of the same with a June baby!

  25. May 14, 2016 / 11:56 pm

Aww this is so cute!! How exciting is to see all this outfits. Very soon your little one will be here and will be able to wear all these pretty outfits. I really like No 2, 7 and 8.
