Slowing Down A Gear: Gratitude List #9

Gratitude list image - seagull soaring in blue skies

Its started to feel really busy on the blog and in real life again over the last week. My head is constantly full of to do lists which I am forever forgetting or never getting round to. I have been trying in earnest to get as much done for Christmas as I can in November so that I can enjoy and soak in December and all of the festivities it brings with the little ones. For the last few weeks I’ve felt like I’ve been chasing my tail and treading water so it would be quite nice to slow it down a gear in December and do some of the things on our Christmas and New Year bucket list which we are making good progress against. We’re actually on track to tick off everything bar the travel items which is great.

So whilst its been a busy week, its been filled with lots that I’m feeling extremely grateful for including:

1.Buying myself a lovely new Mac lipstick.

2. Picking up a couple of black Friday bargains.

3. Enjoying a family afternoon out at the little lady’s school Christmas fair.

4. Going to a friends lovely baby sprinkle on the weekend.

5. Getting to review the gorgeous GLTC Cherry Blossom dolls house that the little lady will be opening on Christmas day.

6. Achieving my highest ever monthly views on the blog for the second month in a row.

7. Having lunch out with my favourite little people.

8. Spending quality time with our nephew and godson on the weekend.

9. Finding the Christmas pjs that I wanted to get for the little lady that were previously out of stock everywhere.

10. Being organised enough to order our Christmas turkey. Ever year I plan to order our turkey online and every year I miss the order deadline. Not this year!

So what are you feeling grateful for this week? Why not sit down, reflect and write a gratitude list of your own. You might surprise yourself..

I love these posts – it must be mindfulness, right? So often we are rushing through these moments of joy and reflection makes us actually stop and appreciate them. The older I get, the more I am realising the value in this. Alison x #MarvMondays

Oh I love looking at the positive – such a better way to view life. A wonderful list of gratefulness – love the lipstick one – I bought a new one yesterday – certainly a happy feeling! Love the lunch out with your favourite ones and being organised for Christmas. I’m trying to make sure everything is done by the end of this week so I can really enjoy the weeks leading up to Christmas too – right let’s get wrapping!! #MarvMondays

What a lovely list, we’ve had such a busy few weeks too but I’m trying to keep my diary clear for now so that I can enjoy the build up to Christmas with the boys. Well done on getting your turkey ordered online, we do it every year and then my husband picks it up the day before Christmas Eve. #MarvMondays

Love this kind of lists. Makes you slow down a bit and think about the things that you do and make you happy. Our family thanks for 3 things each night before we go to sleep. A beautiful tradition that I would recomend everyone:) #MarvMondays

OMG I got myself a MAC lipstick too πŸ™‚

Things need to slow down, but before they do, they seem to be going on an over drive,. It’s crazy, the traffic on the roads, traffic in the malls, people rushing to buy buy & buy!

I’m waiting for xmas. so people take off on their holidays (summer here in the souther hem!) and we have a peaceful 2 months!!

It’s lovely to slow down and remember the nice things in life, however small. As you say, it’s too easy to get swept away but the enormity of getting everything done in time for Christmas. And I must get myself a new lippy! Love the snowflakes on your site by the way – I would have no idea how to do that sort of thing! #MarvMondays

We’re re-doing my old Doll’s House to give to our girls this Christmas. It’s been stored up in the attic at my parents’ for ages so it’s been super exciting getting it down again! Also congratulations on your growing blog stats πŸ™‚ #MarvMondays

I absolutely agree that we all need to take a step back in December and just go with the flow. I really like the idea of that Mac lipstick! Luckily whilst I was on sick leave before my maternity I managed to bag lots of Jam bargains so the stress is totally lifted from this Christmas and we can enjoy it as a new family of 5! #marvmondays

I am so behind on everything christmas related. After moving house just over two weeks ago, we are still settling in and unpacking the last of the boxes. I think this year will be a quiet one for us. I am going to attempt some christmas shopping this week though! You can’t beat a MAC lipstick or some black friday bargains. Thanks for hosting.x #MarvMondays

This week I’m grateful that my sons x-rays came back normal, that we found time to put together a few Christmas crafts already, I’m so very thankful I got to visit my grandmother this weekend, and I’m thankful that today’s snow (while pretty) is already gone.

I feel the same in that I’m running around and chasing my tail a bit at the moment, especially at work so I’m going to write a gratitude list to see that I’ve actually achieved a lot! Loving that you’ve done lots off your bucket list #MarvMondays

Good for you! Its amazing how much there is to be grateful for once you sit down and reflect on it. It definitely helps me realise how much I’m achieving each week even though I think I have sometime achieved nothing in those crazy weeks where you are chasing your tail all the time. Let me know how you get on! Maybe start one on your blog even πŸ™‚ x
