Take The Rough With The Smooth.. Gratitude List #26

Gratitude list image - seagull soaring in blue skiesEver since the Gardeners arrived to start our landscaping project its felt busy, busy, busy. Between making them copious cups of coffee (who knew gardeners drank so much), doing the school and nursery drop offs and pick ups, and slowly get my butt into gear for the return to to work I don’t know where the days have gone.

There are still some days that drag where I’m willing bed time to arrive, but those days are few and far between. There is something about having workmen around that seems to spur you on. So I am definitely trying to enjoy these last few weeks and get as much done as I can before I go back to work, which means there’s lots to feel grateful for this week including:

#1 Having an extra day with the Mr on Monday. Although we didn’t see him that much as he was running around for most of the day, it was lovely to see him a bit more than we would on a usual Monday.

#2 Receiving a signed copy of Annabel Karmel’s new Baby Led Weaning Recipe Book. I’m a huge fan of hers having followed her puree approach with both little ones, so to be one of the first to get her latest recipe book is really special.

#3 Watching our garden start to take shape over the last week. Now that the foundations of the new layout are in we are really starting to get a sense of what it’s going to feel like once its complete. Another week and I think we’ll be able to start enjoying some lovely al fresco dinners (once the sun comes back of course!).

#4 Having a brother in law that has been able to help us out a bit with our garden project. He’s been fab, popping around in the evenings after work to help move things along. It’s easy to take things like this for granted, but it’s actually times like these when I really appreciate having such great family and friends around us.

#5 Writing a post last week where the words literally just flowed out of me. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it is one of the best feelings in the world. It was a bit of a ranty post, but probably one of my favourites to date because it has a depth that I wish most of my posts had.

#6 Championing Bupa’s #ImperfectParent campaign for International Day of Families. A campaign that really resonated with me and that I am hugely passionate about. To talk about how normal it is to be an imperfect parent with so many others has been massively encouraging and reassuring and is something I want to try to do more of beyond the campaign.

#7 Being approached about exciting new blogging related opportunities. I love working with new brands and always get excited about new projects and campaigns that I can get involved in and support.

#8 Finally catching up with a work colleague for a really lovely lunch on a beautiful sunny day in London town.

#9 Having a little bit of free time when I was in London to have a quick browse in the shops, childfree. I rarely get time like this now so it was a real treat.

#10 Finally getting my hands on a book that I’ve been wanting to read for a little while now. So far its been a great read and has really motivated me to get my head back into a few more books before I go back to work.

Read last weeks gratitude list here, or start from the beginning with the very first gratitude list here. I also love that a few other good friends and bloggers have been inspired to start their own gratitude lists too. You can check out the last one from the lovely Fi from Beauty, Baby and Me and Emily’s from Babies & Beauty. Enjoy!

What are you feeling grateful for this week? I’d love it if you shared them with me in the comments section below.

Sounds like a great week. I love getting even a little bit of child free time to wander around town. It’s so much easier than dragging kids about. #marvmondays

I love your lists. It’s so important to focus on what we have and it’s so much more than what you think, when you take the time to acknowledge it. #MarvMondays

I’ve been having moments of shopping child-free (well, hubby has distracted whilst i’ve whizzed round, but still, it’s nice to have a few minutes peace). What book have you been reading? I picked up The Unmumsy Mum’s second book at the weekend so can’t wait to get stuck into it…when I find the time! Congratulations on your new projects too, it must be fulfilling knowing your blog is reaching out to brands that want to work with you and other bloggers. #MarvMondays
