5 Reasons Why You Should Buy A Medela Swing Breastpump

5 Reasons To Buy A Medela Swing! - Medela swing, tulips, cup of team & bookEvery once in a while a product comes along that is a complete game changer, like the Medela Swing breastpump. When I used to think of breastpumps I used to conjur up the stereotypical image of a mum uncomfortably glued to the sofa with a noisy, clunky, intimidating breastpump attached to her for hours literally being squeezed within an inch of her life. Now I know differently because I have experienced the breastfeeding life changer that is the Medela Swing. It was a revelation from the moment I used it back in 2013 when I had my first baby, and I have since gone on to use it again with my second baby over the last year. I wouldn’t use anything else. Ever.

I tell all my friends and any pregnant ladies that want to hear it about the joys of the Medela Swing and why they need one in their lives. It is most definitely a new baby essential and should be on your wish list. Believe me, this will change your life if you are considering or are actually breastfeeding. But don’t just take my word for it, here are five reasons why you need to buy a Medela Swing!

#1 It’s ridiculously quick. I mean like the time it takes to finish a cup of tea (sans children) quick. To an extent how much milk you get each time you pump will depend on your bodies own levels of milk production, but the Medela Swing will pump out what you do produce quickly and effortlessly. I’ve always had quite high levels of milk production so it is pretty normal for me to pump 150ml in ten minutes which I think we can all agree is pretty amazing.

#2 Its clever. Not only can you change the level of pumping for your personal comfort, but you can also tell the breastpump when you have had a let down of milk so that it changes the way it pumps. This is Medela’s very clever two phase pumping technology and it basically mimics the way your baby breastfeeds. I know, ingenious.

#3 Its quick and easy to set up, take apart and clean. I mean seriously easy peasy. The first time you set it up you will probably need to use the instruction manual to make sure you have got all the right bits connected to the right places, unless you are my husband and just seem to know how to set these types of things up. But after that you will probably never need to look at the manual again because the Medela Swing is so easy and intuitive to use.

#4 The Medela Swing is small and compact. A take me anywhere kind of pump. I’m talking the throw it in your handbag and go kind of size. You can literally take in anywhere and everywhere. Mine has been with me on tour to Mauritius, Cornwall and the Welsh valleys because it’s so easy to pack away and take with you wherever you are. Not only does it have a mains plug cable but it has a battery section too, and can even be clipped to a belt, pocket or worn around your neck or shoulder with a shoulder strap taking pumping as you go to a whole new level of convenience.

#5 For a breastpump it is surprising quiet. Noise is important. Anyone with a baby knows that. No one wants to be hooked up to a machine that sounds like a grunty old animal and the Medela Swing is anything but. Yes it does make a rhythmic humming noise as it pumps, but this really is nothing like what you would expect and more importantly it’s not the kind of noise that is going to disturb you or your baby.

Life doesn’t have to stop just because you are breastfeeding. The Medela Swing really is as good as it sounds so if you are breastfeeding or considering breastfeeding anytime soon or in the future I would absolutely recommend the Medela Swing as a must have product for any breastfeeding mum.

I don’t know how I would have coped without my pump! This one is fantastic and the noise thing is a big plus point – you feel less like a milked cow when you don’t have a super loud pump! xx #marvmondays

I always wanted to try the medela swing when I was bf but sadly just couldn’t afford it. I quite liked the pump I was using though. It was very effective but there’s no denying it was big and clumpy and quite noisy. The medela pump sounds amazing.

I’ve heard a few people recommend this one. Unfortunately I’m not sure it would have mattered which one we used, even three days plugged into the hospital double pump did nothing for me 🙁 .Next time (if there is…!) I will definitely be keeping this in mind! #MarvMondays x

I have this pump and it did a great job, but of course one thing I did not like was the price. Haha

I hated pumping with my first and never got much for the hours of sitting uncomfortably. With my second I got the medela swing and it made life so easy for me. I was even able to donate over 100oz of milk to hospital #marvmondays

Heard so many good things about this pump. I have a Lansinoh electric pump and it sounds very similar, the noise thing is so important..I couldn’t quite believe how much quieter electric pumps are to manual!xx #marvmondays

My daughter is having twins early May and this would be an ideal present for her. She’s having to buy two of everything so anything which lowers that payout is wonderful.
