Boden Stripy Applique Jersey Dress

Boden Dress Full Image

I’ll never forget my first introduction to Boden. Some years ago, perhaps a year or two before we had the little lady one of my sister in-laws made an observation that our other sister-in-law was a “total Boden Mum”.  She was referring to the way that she dressed her daughter, which was often in lots of fun, colourful and contrasting patterns, prints and colours. Indifferent I reserved judgement, recalling the conversation a few years later when our little lady had arrived and I found myself joyfully discovering Boden. Since then we have been huge fans of the brand, dressing the little lady in their clothes since she was a few months old. I don’t think there is any clothing brand more quintessentially british than Boden. Their ability to pair classic, simple, beautiful designs with adorably sweet and charming patterns and prints on high quality fabric and turn them into such well made garments is unique. There just isn’t anyone else quite like them on the high street, or rather the virtual high street in their case.

There are a few of their lines that have been absolute staples in the little lady’s wardrobe season after season that we love. The first is their Cosy Quilted Reversible Jacket which I talked about on our You Tube Boden Clothes Haul recently. The second is their Pretty Collar Jersey Dress which is an adorable little dress, and the third which is featured here are their sweet Stripy Applique Jersey Dresses. All three are classics in the Baby Boden range, and you’ll see them season after season in a variation of colours and prints.

Boden Dress Applique

We recently purchased the Stripy Applique Jersey Dress in the Sulphur and Ecru with the Duck Applique which is part of their current Autumn and Winter range and retails full price at £22 in age 2-3 which is what we purchased. It’s the first one the little lady has had since Spring and I’d forgotten how much I love these dresses.

Typically each Boden Baby dress range which starts at 0 -3 months will come in three colour, prints or design variations each season and we chose this one to start with. I always find it really difficult to pick between the different colours and designs, but I was really drawn to the pretty duck applique detail and lovely bright stripy yellow and subtle pink neckline combination.

I used to worry when I first started ordering Boden clothes for our little lady that it would be hard to find tights and shoes or other items of clothing to pair them with but it isn’t at all. It’s really easy and fun to match these dresses to complimenting or contrasting colours and get an equally delightful result. Whats even better is that these dresses are so easy to throw on little ones because of the thoughtful little shoulder buttons, they wash and wear really well even with the applique detail, and are made from lovely, soft easy to wear cotton.

Boden clothes are so thoughtfully made and well designed for little people, which I think makes them worth the slightly higher prices they command when compared to some of the other children’s clothing brands out there on the high street. This dress in particular is one of my favourites in the little lady’s wardrobe this season and I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a new dress to add to your little ladys wardrobe this autumn. With three different colours and applique designs to choose from I don’t see how you could say no!

What colour and applique design would you pick from the range and what would you match it with? I’m always trying to find new and fun combinations so I’d love to hear what you would do!

This was an unpaid for review for our Things We Love Series. All opinions are my own.

That’s a cute dress! I have never used Bodens personally but a few of my friends have and love their clothing for their little ones. Its nice to find somewhere that sells good quality and colourful clothing that will last. I CAN SEE MANY COMBINATIONS OF TIGHTS AND BOOTS/SHOES THAT WOULD MATCH THE DRESS JUST because OF HOW COLOURFUL THE DRESS IS 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday.
