I have to say, Uncle Jordan has certainly pulled it out of the bag this year. He’s gone swiftly from zero to hero in the eyes of our three year old, and all thanks to the two great gifts he got her for her birthday from Wicked Uncle. Impressionable? Perhaps, but I think I would be too if I’d received these gifts.
See, the beauty of Wicked Uncle whose mission is fun, is that they make it easy for you to find the perfect gift regardless of age or gender. Perfect for wicked Uncles (or Aunts, Godparents or Grandparents) like ours that don’t have any offspring of their own yet and aren’t quite au fait with what a suitable gift is for a toddler. Heck they make it so easy us parents should make it easy for ourselves and shop there too!
With the most smart, user friendly yet simple search functionality I have ever come across on a website, Wicked Uncle lets visitors search for presents on the basis of gender, age and even by categories like adventurer or engineer which makes for much more fun and specific searching. You can watch our video below to see for yourself, but it would be hard for anyone to go wrong buying a gift on Wicked Uncle, you’re almost guaranteed to walk away with an awesome gift which was why we just had to take part in the Wicked Uncle Challenge.
Because not only had Uncle Jordan, lets say “forgotten” to buy his three year old niece a birthday present this year also making him a naughty uncle, but he also has a habit of buying some quite age inappropriate presents. Like the hobby horse he got her at 12 months or the pop up pirate she received from him at 2 years old. I love how he truly believes that his niece is brighter and more able than the few years she is, but it also made him the perfect candidate for the Wicked Uncle Challenge!
Of the two presents that he picked out for her I don’t know what to be more impressed with, the Melissa & Doug magnetic wooden fishing game, or the Tomy foam cone factory. Either way, the little lady hasn’t been able to stop playing with either of them since they arrived.
I am a huge Melissa and Doug fan and their wooden fishing game is beautiful, and by beautiful I mean beautiful. Its vibrant and colourful, and so well crafted. It feels durable and of a really high quality. It’s definitely the sort of toy that I would buy myself for the little ones, or as a gift for others. The little lady loves playing with it over and over again so its just as well its easy for a three year old to set up and play by themselves, or with company like she did with daddy and her six year old cousin recently. The game mainly consists of four pieces which includes; fishing rods, magnetic fish, a storage bag which doubles as the sea and a spinner. Its light weight and can easily be transported in its nifty little storage bag which makes it a great travel game too. It comes with instructions which has a few versions of how to play the game, but it’s really straightforward and doesn’t really need them. Its has an age recommendation of 3+ which I think is pretty spot on as its been played by a six year old and a three year old, not counting the Mr who enjoyed a game or ten too!
The Tomy foam cone factory is one of those toys that the little lady had seen on the tv and asked for every single time it was played during the adverts since. For months, possibly since christmas. She wanted it that much. Imagine her delight then when she unwrapped this beauty earlier this week. No sooner had we got home was it suctioned to the wall of our bathroom, the very last frontier of our house to be conquered by the little people in our life. For three years I have resisted the urge to stick a plethora of colourful, plastic squirty things to our bathroom walls, trying to pretend that we do have some boundaries and not have toys overspilling in every room. With baby number two here now I may just have given up on that dream.
The foam cone factory, basically a bath time ice cream maker is an awful lot of fun and kind of makes me wish I was three again. I mean who doesn’t want to make foam ice creams in the bath for fun. Again its really simple and easy to use and set up. It doesn’t require any batteries, just some bubble bath and imagination which our little one has buckets of. It has an age recommendation of 18 months+ but as the little lady has proved, it has a durability far beyond 18 months and I can see this being something that both our little ones could play with together in another year or two. Its great when a toy doesn’t disappoint, and this one most definitely doesn’t.
After the declaration from the little lady that Uncle Jordan buys the best presents, I think we can safely say that Wicked Uncle creates the best present buyers. Mission complete. Thanks Wicked Uncle for your help!
