Paphos with Kids
The first holiday we took as a family was to Cyprus, in the summer of 2015 when Ella was two years old. We were so nervous about taking a toddler on holiday that we only went for five nights, immediately regretting that decision when we landed.
Cyprus is a lovely place to holiday with a young family, there is plenty to see and do and lots of beautiful family-friendly hotels to stay in. We stayed in Paphos because of its coastal and family-friendly location, but there are lots of other lovely places to stay in Cyprus.
Wherever you decide to stay these are the places to visit and explore in Paphos with kids.
Paphos Harbour and Port
Luckily for us, this was on the doorstep of The Annabelle Hotel where we stayed. Paphos harbour is a beautiful port with lovely little shops, cafes and waterside restaurants that you can sit in and have an ice cream whilst you watch the boats go by.
At night it comes to life and is bustling with people of all ages. Whether you visit in the day or in the night, it’s well worth a stroll down the harbour.
Nestled in the Cypriot mountains, Paphos Zoo has everything you would expect and a bit more. Resident animals, a souvenir shop, restaurants and even a couple of museums. But it was the animals that we were the most pleasantly surprised by. As well as Zoo staples like goats and donkeys, there are bigger animals like lions, zebras, elephants and giraffes making Paphos Zoo well worth a visit.
Top tip: visit the Zoo in the morning as it gets hot very quickly up in the mountains.
Aphrodite water park in Paphos has lots to offer families. It has numerous swimming areas for little ones, a lazy river, a surge pool and of course lots of water slides.
Like most water parks you can chuck your stuff in a locker for the day, grab a sun lounger and spend the day by the pool. There are on-site eateries and parking so you don’t have to leave until you’re ready to call it a day.
Top tip; It’s worth knowing that children under 3 get in for free and if you book in advance online you can save yourself 10% off the ticket price.
Coral Bay Beach
If you enjoy spending time at the beach then Coral Bay is the one to go to in Paphos with kids. It has golden sand, calm, clear, shallow water and lovely coves. It’s a popular beach and can get busy, but it has plenty of sunbeds and is one of the best for building sandcastles.
The beach also has free toilets and a couple of food places, making beach days with little ones that little bit easier.
Paphos is a lovely place to visit and explore. It has great hotels, is incredibly family-friendly and just beautiful.
