One of the things that I have wanted to do for the longest time on the blog is a birthday interview with the little lady. Over the last few years I’ve seen a few other bloggers do them and always thought they were a really sweet way to mark a little ones birthday. But up until this year I’ve always thought she has been too young to do one. So when she turned three this week I couldn’t wait to sit her down and finally interview her so that we have something fun to look back on. I’ve included all the typical types of questions you would expect to see in a birthday interview, but I also thought it would be fun to add in a few about what its like having a new baby brother and our upcoming holiday this summer. So this is life in 28 questions in the life of a three year old. Happy birthday little lady!
What’s Your Name?
How Old Are You?
2, pauses, looks at me then says 3 (in all fairness she just turned 3 this week!)
When Is Your Birthday?
How Old Is Daddy?
Looks at me questionably before answering 4
How Old Is Mummy?
2. Clearly there is something very wrong here if she thinks I am younger than her!
What’s Your Favorite Colour?
Yellow, pink and red…and white and yellow, and green! We definitely need to work on her comprehension of favourite.
What’s Your Favorite Food?
Spaghetti bolognese and cereal (not together thankfully!)
Whats Your Favourite Drink?
Milk and water..adds in orange juice as an after thought. She claims to like an orange juice even though she never drinks it, she has just noticed her cousins and friends drinking it which obviously makes it very cool!
Who’s Your Best Friend?
Mummy and daddy. Very cute, good answer little one.
What’s Your Favorite Programme?
Bing. She does like Bing but this is a surprising answer given her current obsession with all things Marvel.
What’s Your Favorite Song?
Close by Nick Jonas. She described it as the song she always asks me to play in the car at the moment. Annoyingly this served as a reminder and she asked me to put it on right there and then almost derailing our interview.
What’s Your Favorite Animal?
A piggy. She always asks to go and see the pigs first when we go to a farm and now I know why!
What Is your Favourite Book?
Fox. I take this to mean Fox’s Socks by Axel Schleffer which I would have to agree is a very good book.
What Are You Scared Of?
A spider. So me pretending not to be scared of spiders for the last three years was pointless. Fab.
What Makes You Happy?
Chocolate. The girl is obsessed, although luckily not addicted to it!
What Is Your Favourite Thing To Do?
Where Is Your Favourite Place To Go?
To the farm and for a walk. The fact that we are going to a farm for her birthday party this weekend has probably been at the forefront of her mind and is influencing her answer somewhat. But she does love going for walks and taking her scooter with us. We definitely need to try to do this more over the summer.
What Do You Want To Do Today?
Play Lego and building bricks. We didn’t end up doing either of these things, and ended up spending our afternoon doing lots of arts and crafts which I expected would be her answer as she loves doing this.
What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
A mummy (seriously?!)
What Do You Like Helping Mummy Do?
Clean the floor. Our lives are sounding so glam right now!
What Do You Like Helping Daddy Do?
Making his coffee
What Is Your Favourite Thing About Mummy?
She plays with me
What Is Your Favourite Thing About Daddy?
He plays music with me. I can only imagine she means watching music videos on You Tube as I can’t think of when else he does this, neither of us are particularly musical!
Where Did Mummy and Daddy Get The Baby From?
Hospital. She knows that mummy and daddy went into the hospital with baby in mummy’s tummy and came out of it with baby!
What Do You Like Doing As A Big Sister?
Reading books and playing with my baby brother.
Where Do You Want To Go On Holiday?
Portugal. Should be interesting given that we’re going to Mauritius this summer!
What Do You Want To Do On Holiday?
Make some sand castles
What Are You Going To Pack in Your Suitcase?
Suncream, goggles and my swimming costume. The little lady is so excited about packing her suitcase and talks about it all the time at the moment!
We had so much fun doing this birthday interview, we’re definitely going to try to do these each year now. I can imagine it probably would have been even more fun to do a video of this, so one for next year perhaps!
Have you ever done a birthday interview with your little one?
