The great thing about having a baby second, third or even forth time round, is that you have most or at least some of the things that you already need. Luckily, we kept most of our baby things after having the little lady as we knew we would like at least one more baby. That means that we don’t have to buy everything new like we did first time round. However there are some things that I would like to get again, upgrade, or get because we didn’t get them the first time round. So I’ve made a bit of a second baby wish list which we’re already making pretty good progress against!
1. 4Moms mamaRoo Baby Rocker Stockist: John Lewis £239.95
I love the look of this rocker and definitely want to get it for our second baby. The first time round we had a beautiful wooden one that looked great, was stupidly expensive, but didn’t do anything. It was one of the things that I regretted spending so much on and always said that the next time round we would get one that had some type of motion. The mamaroo is a little on the pricey side, but it does so much and after having a terrible sleeper the first time round, I’m willing to invest my money in something that could help us avoid a similar experience the second time round.
2. Bloom Fresco Chrome Contemporary Leatherette Baby Chair Stockist:Peppermint £469
The Bloom Fresco is another product I love the look of and could see fitting in so well with our house. I remember looking at them when we were expecting the little lady, but thinking that they were ridiculously expensive for a high chair. But I’ve since changed my opinion after seeing a friends one and discovering that they can be used from birth, effectively doubling up as a bit of a rocker in the kitchen. I genuinely wish we’d just bought one the first time round because then at least we would have got lots more use out of it with two children.
3. Ollie Ella Mo-ma Glider Nursing Chair Stockist: John Lewis. £975
The Ollie Ella Glider is another product that I discovered when we were pregnant with the little lady, but at the time it was only stocked in the US. I literally lusted over this chair and refused to buy anything else on the premise that they didn’t measure up to this gorgeous piece of furniture. I was so delighted when I discovered a few months ago that John Lewis have started stocking them and would love to have one in the house, but have to admit it is eye wateringly expensive and the husband said he would rather rock us both himself for that price, ha!
4. Snuzpod Bedside Crib Stockist: The Little Green Sheep £169
The SnuzPod is a product that I have totally fallen in love with this pregnancy and am most definitely going to be getting for baby number two. It’s such an ingenious little invention, especially for mums that are breastfeeding like I’m hoping I’ll be able to again. This would have made our lives a lot easier if we’d had it when the little lady was a baby, but its a relatively new product so wasnt around at that time. I think with two little ones it’ll be even more useful as I can imagine there may be scenarios where the little lady may try to climb in bed with us once she notices her sibling is in our room with us.
5. Snuz Crib Bedding Set Cloud Nine Stockist:The Little Green Sheep £34.95
If we have the SnuzPod then we most definitely need the gorgeous Snuz Designz bedding that goes with it. I love the bright and fun designs and seriously want to buy them all. The hardest thing will be just picking one or two to start with!
6. Mamas & Papas Welcome to the World Large Muslin Squares Stockist: Mamas & Papas £19.00
I love muslins and used them for virtually everything when the little lady was a baby. We still have loads and use them on the odd occasion, but I’d like to get a few more because they are one of the things that you can never really have enough of with a baby. Some of my favourites that we have from the first time round are large Mamas & Papas patterned ones which have washed and kept really well so I’d love to get these beautiful rabbit ones from their new welcome to the world collection.
7. Medela Swing Breastpump Stockist: John Lewis £134
As I’ve already mentioned, I’m really hoping to breastfeed again with our second baby, so I’d love to get the Medela Swing which I had the first time round and really loved. It made breastfeeding surprisingly quick, easy and painless and I would recommend to any breastfeeding mum as I did in the review that I wrote when I was breastfeeding the little lady. This is another one of my must have purchases for baby number two.
8. Groswaddle Swaddle Baby Blankets Stockist:John Lewis £17.95
When we had the little lady I really wanted to try swaddling her, but never really managed to figure out the technique properly and wasnt confident enough in my new parenting skills to really give it a proper go. I’m pleased to see that this time round, there are a range of new products that have come on to the market that make swaddling a lot easier. I’m determined to give it a proper go this time as I really do think there are some real benefits for baby. We love The Gro Company and I love the look of their Groswaddle so im definitely going to make sure we pick up some of these!
I cant wait to look back in a couple of months and see what we actually got from our wish list. I’m sure we wont get everything, but I hope we can get most things! I’d love to hear what else you think should be on our wish list, and if you’re also having a baby soon whats on yours!
