Toddler Christmas Wishlist

Ella's Christmas Wishlist

It’s finally my favourite time of year. Christmas. Which has become even more special since we had the little lady. This Christmas, her third one so far looks set to be the most magical one yet. At 2.5 years old she is finally old enough to understand, albeit very loosely, the concept of christmas. So the excitement in our household is building already, and this time it’s not just from me.

Rather excitingly, this is also the first christmas where we’ve really understood what the little lady likes and enjoys, so this year her list is largely shaped by her four current obsessions; Kitchen Role Play, Disney Princesses (Cinderella in particular), Toy Story and Bing Bunny. The little lady has lots of lovely things on her list, mainly from GLTC, The Disney Store and John Lewis that are perfect for toddlers age 2-3+. So if you need any inspiration for your little one this christmas, this might be a good place to start!

1.GLTC Sweet Pea Wooden Kitchen. The little lady has outgrown her very small wooden toy kitchen that was bought for her first birthday last year. I knew that meant, that this christmas her main present would either have to be a doll’s house or an upgrade to a full size wooden toy kitchen. We’d had our eyes on the very pretty GLTC Sweet Pea Wooden Kitchen for quite a while. Not only because it looks like it is the perfect size for a two year old, but because it is also surprisingly functional with an oven, washing machine and microwave, which is a massive upgrade on her single oven. We are incredibly lucky to be able to tick this off our list already after GLTC very generously gifted Ella with one of their best selling kitchen ranges for her to test and play with this christmas! It will be her grandest and loveliest gift and I can’t wait for her to see it on christmas morning. The hardest decision now is whether to wrap it or assemble it ready for her to play with! Retails full price at £160.

2.Disney Cinderella Dress Up Costume. A few months ago, the little lady developed a very sudden obsession with Cinderella which has since extended to all Disney Princesses. But her love and obsession for Cinderella in particular remains and she has made it very clear with every Disney Princess and Cinderella advert or toy that she has seen on tv, in stores or in brochures, that she simply must have all things Cinderella and Disney Princess this christmas. A Disney Cinderella dress up outfit would be the perfect gift for our little lady to pretend she is a princess too. Retails full price at £35.95.

3.GLTC Cherry Blossom Wooden Dolls House Ever since we discovered GLTC we’ve had our eyes on their lovely wooden dolls house and have dreamed about the day that our little lady would be old enough to have one of her own. Theres something about the quality and modern, yet traditional colours and design of the Cherry Blossom wooden dolls house that makes it stand out from the others on the market. If you are considering a doll’s house for your little one, then you should definitely consider this one, its beautiful. Retails full price at £115.

4.Disney Cinderella Animators Doll. The little lady is probably around the right age for us to start introducing her to dolls, and these Disney Animators dolls are the perfect size to start with. That and the fact that they have a lovely range to choose from which includes Cinderella! Retails full price at £20.

5.GLTC Wooden Toy Till. Not only is this a lovely wooden toy to extend the little lady’s role play range with, but it is also educational. I love the idea of starting to teach her about the concept of money. There a few toy tills out there to pick from, but this is a beautiful, traditional but modern wooden one which comes in two lovely colours to pick from. Retails full price at £26.

6.Disney Toy Story Talking Rex. Earlier this year the little lady discovered Toy Story and with it her first obsession. Since then we’ve slowly collected all the films and most of the toys. Rex is one of the last ones that she has left to get so this has to be on her christmas list this year. Retails full price at £26.95.

7.GLTC Wooden Toy Shopping Trolley. No toy kitchen and shop can be complete without a toy trolley, and this is the loveliest looking one I have ever seen. It is also the first and only wooden trolley that I have seen and I love that it comes in three beautiful colours too. It will fit in perfectly with the rest of our wooden role play range. Retails full price at £50.

8.Disney Toy Story Talking Slinky Slinky is the last of the two main Toy Story toys for the little lady to collect, so is on her list along with Rex. However compared to all the other Toy Story toys, Slinky looks particularly fun because of his slinky tummy feature which is made from the traditional slinky toy. I think the husband and I are probably looking as forward to playing with him as the little lady is because of it! Retails full price at £26.95.

9.Disney Princesses Scooter. Ever since the summer when we went to Battersea park for a picnic with our niece and nephew and the little lady spent the day riding her cousins scooter, I knew it was time to get the little lady one of her own. She already has a scuttle bug and a ride on car so rather than opt for a Micro Scooter which would have been the type of range we would typically look at, we’ve instead picked this Disney Princess one which will be perfect to get her started. Plus it has her favourite girls of the moment on it. Retails full price at Debenhams for £35.00.

10.Bing Bunny’s House. The little lady recently discovered Bing on Cbeebies and since then he has been one of her favourite children’s programmes to watch from time to time. More recently she spotted Bing Bunnys House in a store we were in and grabbed it off the shelf to play with it for as long as we would let her. She has since pointed it out at home in catalogues and brochures so I think its pretty clear that this is on her christmas list this year. Retails full price at John Lewis for £31.99.

11.GLTC Wooden Toy Doctor Set. I spied this very sweet wooden doctors set on GLTC not too long ago and immediately wanted to get it for the little lady. I wasnt too sure if she might be too young for it, but quite soon after we had friends round with their son who had just turned three and had received a doctors set for his birthday. The little lady wanted to play with the whole time they were round, so pretty much after they left this went straight onto her christmas list! Retails full price at £40.

12.Bing Bunny 16 Piece Puzzle. The little lady received a lovely 16 piece Gruffalo puzzle for her birthday in the summer and since then puzzles have become one of her favourite things to do every now and then. 16 pieces is the perfect size and complexity for a two year old toddler, so I just know she would have lots of fun doing this Bing one too. Retails full price at John Lewis for £8.99.

13.Disney Princesses Lego Duplo One of the little ladys other favourite things to do is to tip out her two boxes of Lego and build towers. She spied this Disney Princess Duplo set in the Lego store recently which would be the perfect addition to the two she already has. Retails full price at Lego for £34.99.

14.GLTC Wooden Pan Set. The little lady will need some lovely new cookware to go with her beautiful new kitchen and these GLTC ones look they will go perfectly with the Sweet Pea Kitchen. Retails full price at £21.

15.GLTC Bakery Basket. The little lady has quite a lot of play food already, although mainly fruit, veg and more recently play food (thank you again GLTC!). But I spied this very sophisticated looking bakery basket on the GLTC website recently and thought it would be another perfect addition to her lovely new Sweet Pea Kitchen. How many other two year olds will be able to serve up Croissants and Pain au Raisins? Retails full price at £12.

16.Axel Scheffler Noisy Jungle Book. The little lady loves Axel Scheffler books and she also loves noisy sound books. surprisingly we only have one noisy sound book (Dear Zoo), but we have most of Axel Scheffler’s books in their normal format. One of the few that we have left to collect in his range is this noisy jungle book which I know she will love. I’m sure it will be as delightful and engaging as all his others, although perhaps a bit noisier! Retails full price at John Lewis for £9.09.

It’s Marianna’s first Christmas this year so we’re not buying her anything! She has so much stuff already, and her grandparents have got her loads so there’s just no point. I think it will be a different situation next year – I’m hoping she’ll be into play kitchens and things like that, just so I can have a go too! πŸ™‚

I think it was pretty similar with our little lady’s first Christmas, we mostly got her clothes as she was too small to open anything or know what was going on. But it definitely starts to get magical for them from the second and third Christmas!

  3. November 8, 2015 / 2:37 pm

Pretty much all of this stuff is on our Christmas wish list for evie!! We have the trolley already and it gets used every single day. I do love GLTC. A really fab list. We want a kitchen for her next for sure. xx #KCACOLS

You’ve picked some fantastic pieces for your little girl. I love GLTC and the range of items they’ve got, it’s difficult to narrow the choices down!

If we had a little girl the dolls house would definitely be on the list. Adorable! I also love the Doctor’s Bag and the wooden till. I think we’ll be adding those to the list at some stage too.
