Spring not only brings brighter days and sunshine but the start of many new home projects. Its been almost two years since we bought and moved into our first home, and as any new homeowner will know, there’s always lots to do.
We hit the pause button last year after completing some pretty extensive decorative renovations the year we moved in. So it’s exciting to be able to hit the start button again and begin some new home projects.
Our main aim is to really start putting our stamp on our home so I’ll share more about the different projects over the next few weeks and months. But for now, I wanted to share our first and one of the ones I am most excited about which is the children’s bedroom.
Children’s Shared Bedroom Ideas
At the moment Ella has her own bedroom and the little guy is in a SnuzPod bedside crib in our room. He is most definitely about to outgrow this so the time is ripe to move him into a full-sized cot.
Rather than put him in our third bedroom which is currently our home office, we decided it would be nice for the little ones to share a bedroom whilst they are both really young until we either move again or extend.
There is something quite nice about sharing a bedroom when you’re young. I shared a bedroom with my little sister when I was young and I still remember the camaraderie and the closeness that it brought so I can’t wait for our little ones to experience this too.
At the moment Ella’s room is a beautiful pale mint colour which we painted when we first moved in. I still love this colour so we’ll build their room around that.
However to get some inspiration I have been gathering lots of ideas over on my Pinterest boards and wanted to share some of my favourites here.
There are three main colour schemes that I am absolutely loving and think would work well for a stylish children’s shared bedroom. I’ve named them Scandi Chic, Playful Pastels and Mini Monochrome.
Now the hard work is deciding which one to go with so I’d love to hear which one is your favourite!
