The Gratitude Series 2018. #3

mug in hands

What is the saying, 28 days forms a habit? I’m not so sure its 28 days, but doing something consistently enough is definitely habit forming. Whilst I don’t think I’m quite there yet in getting into a rhythm and routine with these posts, I’m definitely on my way and they are definitely serving their purpose already. As the saying goes, energy flows where attention goes and this week:

#1 I completed a new course and got accredited for it at the same time meaning that I am now qualified to deliver behaviour assessments both at work and to my coaching clients. I had never planned or intended to do the course, but the universe literally put it in my lap because I kid you not two days after I signed up a new exec coaching client at work asked me to use the assessment in our next session (insane or what?!).

#2 I finally got my hair done after our awful #NitsGate experience over the new year (don’t ask, I’m still traumatised). Anyway, I always enjoy how fresh and healthy my hair feels after my appointments but I appreciated it SO much more this week.

#3 I went out out with my sister in laws for dinner and a couple of drinks at BoxPark on the weekend. Casual but oh so much fun, and probably the cheapest night out I’ve had in ages.

#4 The recipe for my favourite Itsu lunch was improved which I didn’t think was possible but apparently it is and now (like most things that I love) I am OBSESSED. Side note; I was really annoyed at Itsu when I saw they’d changed the recipe and was convinced that they’d ruined it (LOL).

#5 I’m finally getting to grips with Apple music and found some new songs that I love this week (I still prefer Spotify though!). Between podcasts and music there is nothing that makes me happier on my commutes these days.

#6 I found a brand new pair of thigh high boots that I’d forgotten about which have been in our loft for around 4-5 years over the weekend. They’re probably one of the best things that have come out of our many January decluttering sessions!

#7 Finding my new drink of the moment half price at Waitrose this week was an exciting moment. Of course it meant I had to do a special late night trip to clear their shelves before anyone else got to them. Not. even. Kidding.

Honestly, I never know where these posts are going to take me when I sit down to write them but I always finish them smiling. They always start the same, I always know what the first couple are before I even start but then I always have to stop and reflect for the rest to form. But when they do they just flow, and flow and all of a sudden I’m at the end . There is always so much to be grateful for, don’t you think?..

Have a wonderful week

Emily x

You’ve had a brilliant week and it’s funny as I know all of these from watching your stories this week. Love the boots BTW. Claire x #BigPinkLink

Thanks lovely! I was actually wondering if it might be a bit too repetitive for people that follow my stories and read my blog x

What a brilliant idea. At the end of a long and gloomy January that has held a few disasaters for me, it is heartwarming to be reminded I can find so much to be grateful for if I think about it. I am glad you found your boots and are enjoying the itsu menu update so much. I hope you do keep up this habit, and I may take it up too. #bigpinklink

So true that there are things to be grateful if we take time to stop and think. #bigpinklink

Oh I love this, sometimes its so easy to miss the good things, I’ve actually been contemplating starting a ‘gratitude jar’ and writing down all the little happy things and placing them in a jar. Sounds like January was full of happy moments for you. Thank you for sharing with #bigpinklink x
