January Favourites

January Favourites - beauty flatlayJanuary has been a slow and quiet month for finds and purchases after the excesses of December. At one point I wasnt even sure if I’d bought or had anything new worth sharing, but at the last minute I unintentionally made a few stellar purchases of things that I fell in love with straight away and just had to share with you all. So here are my January favourites that I am feeling very excited and inspired by and hope you do too!

Urban Decay One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

I only picked up this beauty recently but it’s already a favourite. The Urban Decay One and Done is a product that I’ve wanted to try for a few months now, so I was pleased when I was able to pick this up on one of our weekend shopping trips. It’s a three in one product that is supposed to blur imperfections, conceal and give you light but good coverage and having used it a handful of times already, I have to say it absolutely delivers. I’ve never bought an Urban Decay product before, I very much consider myself to be a MAC and Benefit girl, but I’d heard too many good things about it not to try it and I am so pleased I did. I’d definitely recommend giving One and Done a go if you’re looking for something similar.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick

As soon as I saw that MAC were bringing out some new colours of the retro matte liquid lipstick I knew I’d have to have one. There are 8 seriously gorgeous colours which look as good on as they do in the tube. I picked out Cafe au chic which is a lovely greyed beige that goes on beautifully and wears so well. It has that wonderful signature MAC vanilla scent and feels great on your lips. Since I got it I’ve been addicted to wearing it as I just love the colour and how long it lasts. I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back for one or two more as there are so many lovely colours in the new collection. Again this is another product that I would definitely recommend picking up for yourself if you like your liquid lipsticks!

January Favourites - wire notice board flaylay

Wire Notice Board

I randomly spotted this beautiful white and gold wire notice board when I was in Sainsburys one morning when I was doing our weekly food shop. One of my favourite things to do is have a mooch around the homewares section of supermarkets as they always have hidden little gems like this one. I’ve wanted a wire notice board to complete my blogging space forever, but they always seemed a little too pricey to justify for my little space so I kind of gave up thinking I would get one. Until I saw this one which I grabbed as soon as I saw it. It was such a bargain at £14 that I couldnt not buy it. I am so pleased with it and it has finished off my blogging space perfectly.

This time every year our food shopping bill starts to creep up as tulip season begins. From now through to Spring I allow myself a weekly flower allowance to accommodate my obsession with having a new bunch, and preferably colour of tulips each week. I love this pretty pink bunch and cant wait to see some of the speciality colour tulips that start to appear later in the season. As you can imagine I actually get quite excited to see what colours are in store each week and it only gets worse once peonie season starts. That’s when the real flower obsession begins!

So those are all of my January favourites. Lots of beautiful things that make me feel happy and bring me joy.

I’d love to hear what things you’ve bought or have been gifted this month that have brought you joy in the comments below.

Lovely list! Must give the Urban Decay One and Done a try. I am currently lusting over YSL’s Top Secrets Moisture Glow which I think is in the same category – blurs, perfects, moisturizes and primes. Recently I have picked up the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and it is marvelous. When I first tried it I thought, ‘ooh this is not for me’. It felt like I was applying body butter over my face and I just couldn’t see how it was going to get the grime out and leave my skin lovely, fresh and oil free. Well it does all that with the added benefit of not drying the hell out of it which is a plus if you have oily but dehydrated skin, abused by hard London water. Five stars 🙂 x
