October Favourites

October Favourites Flatlay

Its been a quiet month as far as favourites go. It’s probably been the first month that I havent automatically had lots that I’ve wanted to talk about. In fact, it’s the first time since I started writing my monthly favourites posts that I’ve had to actually sit down and think about what to include. It feels like I havent bought as much as I usually do, although on reflection I think all the lovely homeware finds have now become clothes finds as I’ve started to focus on my autumn and winter wardrobe over the last few weeks. So if this was a fashion post (I am actually thinking about doing one), then I’d actually have loads to include. That said, I do have some lovely finds for this month that I am enjoying and want to share.

The Little Book of Hygge

It feels like this little book, or similar versions of it have been doing the rounds on Instagram. I never like to be one to miss out on a good book so I ordered my own copy which I’ve just started reading over the last week or so. Anything that could help us as a family and as individuals to embrace all the things that we love and enjoy to create more every day happiness can only be a good thing so I am looking forward to really getting into this book properly over the next few days and weeks.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

I’ve actually had this little beauty since last Christmas but have only this month started using it and can’t believe I waited so long to try it. But in my defense, I asked for a ton of make up last Christmas and this was about one of six highlighters that the Mr got me. He obviously didn’t realise that he was getting me a lot of the same types of products, but I’m not complaining as I’ve had fun discovering lots of new make up throughout the year. Anyway, this is a gorgeous pearl liquid highlighter that actually is probably one of my favourites because of the composition of it, the lovely shimmery pink colour and the sweet almond like smell which is divine. If you’re looking for a new liquid highlighter then I’d definitely recommend it. It’s now one of my favourite highlighters!

Champneys Hand Cream

I’ve needed to get a new handcream for ages. My hands are literally like sandpaper. So unattractive. I usually favour Laura Mercier handcreams which are the best, but I picked up this little tube of Champneys handcream when I was in Boots the other day, just to keep me going until I can get my next one and was pleasantly surprised at how nice this is. I’m usually really fussy with handcreams as its so hard to find creams that aren’t too greasy or pungent, but this is really nicely balanced – thick, moisturising, nicely fragranced and a bargain at £3.50 compared to my usual £13.

So those are all the beauty and lifestyle finds that have brought me joy this month. What things have you found that have brought you joy this month?..

Benefit products are just so consistently good, aren’t they! I have just ventured into handcreams after realising mine look prehistoric! I had a free hand and arm massage at Molton Brown and bought a beautiful new cream I just have to remember to use it! x #BloggerClubUK

I really should get a nice new handcream. Keep telling myself I will but it slips my mind. My hands feel so dry on the best of days because of the housework etc, so this cold weather isn’t helping. I’ll have to have a nosey on over to Boots and check it out! #bestandworst

I’m fussy with handcream too, as I have very dry hands and hardly anything seems to work. I shall check out the Champneys one. I love the sound of all your purchases. I bought some candles this month in lovely enclosed candle holders, that I am really enjoying as I cosy up now the nights are drawing in. Alison x #MarvMondays

Yep! Have the Hygge Book. Love it! I also have dreadful sandpaper hands and have various lotions and potions. The thing is, I suspect it just perpetuates the dryness! Or am I just being paranoid? We need to form our own little sandpaper hands support group! #MarvMondays
