The Quiet Before The Storm. Gratitude List #22

Gratitude list image - seagull soaring in blue skiesIt’s finally half term, which means a slightly less chaotic two weeks ahead. I am already enjoying the slightly later mornings and longer days which are lighter and brighter thanks to the clocks going forward. Yet life continues to move at a million miles an hour as the realisation that maternity leave is coming to an end and I still have about a gazillion things that I want to achieve and do before it does.

This week has thankfully had a much slower pace to it which I am feeling massively grateful for as well as:

#1 The start of half term which means no school run, some semblance of a lie in and lots of lovely days with the little ones. Yes two of them all day every day for two weeks is kind of scary, but its the best kind of scary.

#2 A lovely day out with the littles at the English National Trust Park, Morden Hall Park. A lovely walled park in the middle of South London that I’ve wanted to explore for a while, and when I saw the sun shining on Monday I knew it would be the perfect day to go.

#3 Surviving four days of solo parenting whilst the Mr was overseas for work. I say surviving, but we actually had three really nice days together with the little ones really well behaved and a real joy to be with.

#4 Although I am massively grateful that the Mr got back home yesterday because whilst its been lovely, I am exhausted of being “on” for four days solid. Single parents, how do you do it?!

#5 Being sent a Little Tikes trike for the little guy which I cant wait to get him in. He loves going outdoors and having a bit of a look around so I think he’ll love seeing the world from a whole new perspective.

#6 Lots of beautiful sunny days. A lovely sunny day always makes me feel so much happier and brighter, its amazing how much of a difference a  little bit of sun can make!

#7 Finding a beautiful new shirt for myself in Zara. I love it and cant wait to wear it. I just need somewhere to wear it to now.

#8 Having amazing family that are able to step in and help with the little ones when I have job interviews and exciting blogging opportunities and events to go to.

What are you feeling grateful for this week? I’d love it if you shared it in the comments below.

You know how much I love these posts and it has inspired one of my posts this week! Loved seeing the fun you’re having over the Easter holidays on your IG stories! Can totally understand what you mean about asking how single parents do it. My hubs has been away a few times and it’s bloody hard work isn’t it! Thanks for hosting #marvmondays xx

What a lovely list of things, we love National Trust places too. They just feel so wholesome and proper ‘family’ days out, don’t they? Well done on surviving the four days solo, I struggle with just one day sometimes! It’s lovely to have that one on one time but also exhausting! #marvmondays

I’m not a single parent, my husband works, but I’m the ‘on’ parent, ALL THE TIME. It is physically and mentally exhausting.

Sounds like a brilliant list, but above all, well done on the solo parenting! It can be so knackering. My partner will be away for 10 days in a couple of months time and I am already dreading it… My TOP 5 silver linings last week were:
    1. One night when my 3 year-old slept through (he wakes up normally about 4 times a night)
    2. Making a lamb casserole which he actually gobbled up (RESULT!)
    3. Enjoying the sun over the weekend with only a few tantrums peppered through.
    4. Having a barbecue on Sunday and actually managing to eat and enjoy it rather than chasing my tail just making sure everyone was fed.
    5. Having a rare and unexpectedly well executed manicure at a small little nail bar close to home. Best manicure I have ever had, hands down *pun intended* 🙂 #marvmondays

Single parents blow my mind. Parents who don;t have friends or family nearby to help, how on Earth? Being a mom is by far the greatest thing ever, and the hardest thing ever, and I wouldn’t change one thing. #marvmondays xo

Brilliant list hun, and the weather has certainly made it this week. I’m not sure how single parents do it, just doing it all for one day as hurt. Hope you have a fantastic rest of the Easter break hun. Claire x #MarvMondays

The sunshine really does help when it comes to feeling better about things. Your mood is instantly lifted. It sounds like the Easter holidays are going well so far. I hope it continues that way. #MarvMondays
