Cornwall & Yellow Raincoats

Introducing Lana

This jacket.

The jacket of all yellow fisherman jackets. Well actually it’s called Lana but names aside, I think I may have fallen a little bit in love with this beauty of a raincoat during our recent weekend escape to Cornwall. In all honesty, I didn’t know I could adore a jacket as much as I do this one.

I’ve never been one for wearing bright colours, but there is something about yellow raincoats that is so classic and stylish in a very unfussy way.

Investing in statement pieces

There have been many an interpretation of the yellow fisherman jacket on the high street. But I’m a very particular person when it comes to clothes, and especially statement pieces like this one.

Everything has to be just so, and I am all about the quality and the detail which this raincoat is all about. From the gorgeous tan leather zipper to the beautiful brass toggles that draw in your eye, this is a raincoat that not only looks good but has been lovingly designed and made.

Lightweight and discreetly, yet generously padded and lined I did not feel any of the blustery cold and rainy winds that whistled around us in Cornwall last weekend.

My hands, exposed to the elements may have been cold, wet and freezing, but the rest of me was perfectly warm and dry. You may look at yellow raincoats and think rainy beach days, but actually, the Lana makes the perfect autumn to winter jacket.

I had so much fun styling it for Lighthouse that I wanted to share my favourite one of three looks that I loved wearing during our weekend in Cornwall.

How to style a yellow raincoat

There’s nothing more fitting than classic white Converse for an active weekend by the coast with little ones, which pared with the warmest navy cable knitted jumper, the softest oversized cream and blue checked scarf, my favourite ink blue-washed jeans, tortoiseshell Ray-Bans and of course the bright and beautiful Lana raincoat which makes for a perfect off duty look.

All captured against the beautiful backdrop of Cornwall in these photos which Chris and my friend very patiently took until I was happy that I had the perfect shots to showcase this gorgeous jacket.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think I’d most definitely have to agree.

Isn’t it funny how you can live somewhere your whole life and never visited such a beautiful place?! I love the coat by the way. I’ve been wanting a matching yellow coat with Amelia for ages and then max when he’s older (something for them to look back on and probably hate me for being so embarrassing!) #MarvMondays

That is the most gorgeous jacket and it suits you beautifully. And a trip to Cornwall is definitely the perfect backdrop for all those stunning photographs. I am a massive fan of a Fisherman’s jacket (I own one myself). They are stylish and elegant. A classic wardrobe staple that is perfectly practical too. I also love the way you’be styled it in all these shots. You always look gorgeous. Hugs Lucy xxxx
