Feeding Little Imaginations With GLTC

My Petit Canard GLTC Art Station

Over the last few months the little lady has developed quite the little artists streak. Her favourite thing to do in the evening after nursery or on the weekends is arts and crafts, or rather sticking as she so literally puts it. Our home over the last few months has slowly started to resemble the insides of Mister Makers art closet, with googly eyes, pipe cleaners and multicoloured fluffy pom poms galore to be found under sofas and carpets around the house. We can’t go into a Hobby Craft or Tiger store without walking out with a packet of stickers which have become like the little lady’s calling card. We find them everywhere. On the insides of our washing machine, under the soles of shoes and that’s without her sticking them all over our clothes as she loves to do!

As the little lady’s interest and love for all things arts and crafts has grown over the last few months, so too has her little collection. I’ve actively encouraged and indulged her little passion which has been so lovely to watch. But at the same time, as it has grown I’ve become desperate to contain it and get some semblance of order to the chaos that was tissue paper and foam dinosaurs. I was massively inspired by our recent visit to the opening of the new GLTC Showroom and the lovely set up of an arts and crafts station on one of their Kimi table and stools that the little lady also has. The GLTC showroom has been designed intentionally so that parents and children can see, play and interact with the furniture and toys, and it was great seeing this come to life as we watched the little lady use the furniture exactly as she would at home. I knew before we even walked out the door that I wanted to create a similar set up for her back at home and so recently ordered the Spinning Desk Tidy and Sprinkles Carry Caddy to compliment the lovely Mr Bear Pen Pot that the little lady was given in her GLTC testing team goody bag at the end of the day.

GLTC Miss Cat & Mr Bear Masks

Spinning Desk Tidy

The spinning desk tidy is my new favourite thing. Its sizeable, sturdy and fantastic for holding lots of different bits of arts and crafts materials. It’s perfect for little hands to grab what they need and spin it around making it fully accessible and easy to use. Because its weighted too it doesn’t slip or slide and stays firmly and safely where you put it. Its perfect on a little desk or table and looks great in the middle of the Kimi table as we have it here.

Mr Bear Pen Pot

Along with Miss Cat, Mr Bear is one of the most adorable GLTC designs in their range, so we were delighted to discover this lovely pen pot in the little lady’s GLTC goody bag. It comes with a lid that allows you to put pencils in it, but we’ve removed the lid and instead put lots of coloured pens in there as the little lady seems to have an abundance of them at the moment. It’s the perfect size for holding a full set, keeps them nice and organised and is really easy for her to reach in and out of when she is colouring.

Sprinkles Carry Caddy

The sprinkles carry caddy is another piece that I had my eye on for quite some time. Along with the million bits of arts and crafts paraphernalia, we also seem to have collected lots and lots of coloured paper which we were also finding all over the house. I loved the idea that we could again have a specific place to house all of these bits, but in a way that was still accessible for the little lady to get to. The sprinkles carry caddy is perfect for doing exactly this and really compliments all the other GLTC pieces. It is incredibly sturdy, surprisingly large and does a great job at holding a lot of paper but could be used for lots of other things too like books. There are three compartments to it so we’ve found it really handy for storing lots of stickers too!

My Petit Canard GLTC Art Pieces

GLTC Art Caddy

I’ve really enjoyed creating such a lovely art space for our little lady and its great to see her imagination thriving because of it. One of the best things about GLTC furniture is how easily it can be adapted to suit the way your family likes to play and interact. Everything they design and make really does help make more space, make play fun and therefore makes a happy home for parents and little ones. There is lots to pick from and something to suit everyone, so if you’ve been inspired by our post or need any more inspiration for your little artist, here’s a few more ideas of lovely GLTC pieces currently in their range.

Firstly love your blog and loving your design and layout :o)

I’m totally in love with Hobbycraft and thankfully Henry shares my love of arts and crafts, however I’ve never heard of GLTC and now I’m obsessed. Love the Sprinkles Carry Caddy, perfect for all the bits and bobs you collect during some crazy project. I’m about to add quite a few things into my basket, just don’t tell hubby :o). Sorry in advance for the new GLTC obsession, it becomes a compulsion! Unhealthy for the bank balance, but you will have a very pretty house and very happy son πŸ˜‰ #Sorrynotsorry

    What a beautiful blog!
I hadn’t heard of GLTC but wow they have some lovely stuff. My almost-4 yo boy has just recently started getting into drawing, cutting etc, and it would be nice to get our arts & crafts things a bit more organised. At the moment they’re all just stuffed higgedly-piggeldy into a drawer!

    • June 16, 2016 / 10:59 pm

The toy box seat is really sweet. If we had the space for one I’m sure we’d get our little one, one of those too. So many lovely things, not enough space! Although I usually find a way to make space for their things that we just have to have πŸ˜‰

  21. June 16, 2016 / 1:29 pm

I absolutely love GLTC, they’re products are so stylish and like you say they adapt so well with the family, without being too intrusive (I’m a fan of simple and pastel colours, I despair how bright lego is!). The desk tidy is gorgeous and so handy I may get my little babes one, but first I think they need their own crafting table! We’ve been really crafty lately, the kids love sticking too and like you I’m finding the sodding stickers EVERYWHERE. I put my knickers on the other day and one of my sweeties had stuck a paw patrol sticker on the bum cheek. But I love how artsy kids are, I always try to encourage it, no matter how messy it gets x Thanks for hosting #marvmondays and featuring my post, it really made me smile how funny you find it. Humour is the best way to get through those awful times!
