The Little Green Sheep Cot Bed Mattress Protector

The Green Sheep Mattress Protector Packaging

When I received our Little Green Sheep Baby Cot Bed Mattress Protector and opened it to reveal its beautiful packaging, I just knew we had something pretty special in our hands.

When I have thought about mattress protectors in the past, I have always conjured up images of the scratchy, slippery polystyrene sheets that I had on my bed when I was a child. So you can imagine my absolute delight when we received this beautiful, soft, organic, luxury cotton mattress protector in the post.

We recently started potty training with the little lady over the Christmas and new year break, so when the opportunity came up to review The Little Green Sheep Mattress Protector I jumped at it, and the timing couldn’t be any more perfect.

Luckily for us, potty training was much quicker and smoother than I expected it to be, although there were definitely days and moments where I questioned whether we’d ever get the hang of it. But after eight days of persevering, we were dry and out of Pull-Ups in the day time.

The next hurdle was figuring out how to get the little lady dry through the nights and that is where this wonderful Little Green Sheep Mattress Protector came in.

I was almost dreading the night time transition more than the day time transition, but this lovely mattress protector made it so easy.

Mattress Protector & Packaging

Little Green Sheep Mattress Protector Close Up

Perfectly crafted and sized, the mattress protector fit our cot bed mattress like a glove. Ella was delighted to try it out for size and put it through its paces at bedtime for a couple of weeks.

Like most toddlers, she is a rather active sleeper and tends to move around her bed throughout the night somehow. I have often found her hanging off the side of her bed, and in the early days when she first moved to a cot bed, it wouldn’t be unusual to find her on the floor by the morning.

So it’s fair to say that the mattress protector has had some pretty rigorous toddler testing and has managed to stay intact and in place!

There are so many things I love about this mattress protector. Like the fact that it is made from super-soft, absorbent organic cotton which is what makes it such a beautiful product.

Yet it is also 100% waterproof because of a rather clever thin membrane of polyurethane running through the middle of it, and can still be both machines washed and tumble dried which makes it perfect for any accidents.

The fact that it’s also breathable, anti-dust mite and free from toxins makes it practically a revolution in children’s mattress protectors. I really don’t think I’ve come across a smarter product!

I’ve fallen in love with this company and only wish we’d discovered them sooner as the quality and design of their products are beautiful. There are lots of lovely things that we would buy besides this mattress protector, especially as their products are really reasonably priced.

For example, the cot bed protector retails at £28.95 which is comparable, if not favourable to John Lewis, Mamas and Papas and The White Company.

Luckily for us though, with baby number two on the way we have a whole new opportunity to experience and explore their lovely range of products, from mattresses to the clever SnuzPod and gorgeous new SnuzPod bedding range which are both on our new baby wish list.

So if you’re in the market for a lovely, high-quality mattress protector like we were, then we’d really highly recommend The Little Green Sheep!

We used Little Green Sheep mattress protectors in the moses basket and crib for both our children. They are brilliant – totally non-plasticky and wash and last so well. Looks like the packaging has gone up a premium notch since I got ours back in 2012 though!
